There are still openings in the Parent Project facilitator training scheduled for Monday, March 30 through Friday, April 3, 2020 in Salina, KS.
Facilitators may include representatives from: Law Enforcement, Child Welfare, Schools, Juvenile Community Corrections, Courts and Probation, Mental Health Organizations, Churches and other Community-Based Organizations.
The Parent Project facilitator training is a 40-hour, week-long training which begins at 8:00 am and runs until 5:00 pm daily. It is important that participants are able to be on-site for the entire training. Failure to attend the training in its entirety will prevent certification in the training.
At the completion of the training, participants will be able to facilitate Changing Destructive Adolescent Behavior which is a 10 to 16-week program designed for parents raising difficult or out-of-control adolescent children. Parents meet for several hours one night per week in order to learn and practice behavior management strategies that can be implemented at home. Parents also form a support network that can be tapped into after the formal training has ended.
There is no registration fee or tuition to attend the facilitator training (this includes no cost for training materials). In addition, breakfast and lunch are provided for all participants each date at no cost to attendees. Attendees will be responsible for costs associated with travel to and from the training site in addition to lodging and dinners. Please indicate if you have any special dietary needs (i.e. gluten free, vegetarian) when you register.
The training will be held at the Courtyard by Marriott located at 3020 Riffel Drive in Salina, KS. A limited number of rooms are available at a block rate of $94. Reservations may be made via phone at 785-309-1300. Be sure to mention you are a part of the Parent Project group when booking your stay.
