I proceeded to the treatment facility to check on K.C., a dropout known as the “best drug dealer” in town. He was picked up for distribution and placed within the facility.
The first few months were rough, and K.C. was close to being kicked out of the program. But this day, he let me know he made the football team.
Surprised, I told him I didn’t know he liked to play sports. He stated that he didn’t know either but decided to try it.
K.C. was released early and accepted into an independent living facility where he was able to continue high school and football.
It’s never too late. Sometimes we just need to allow new adventures into our lives.
