As you are aware, in this fast-changing COVID environment, universities and other dense-traffic areas are specifically asked to respond swiftly and surely to public health precautions. Currently, both K-State and FHSU are suspending in-person classes, other on-campus activities, and moving all classes online. We certainly support that.
At this time, know that we remain optimistic in moving forward with the Summit plans as initially intended — in person, at Fort Hays State University on April 17, 2020. It is equally important, of course, that we have a strong contingency plan; we have already begun even before these recent announcements.
IF we go to “Plan B,” we will advise you at least a week out from the April 17 date. The alternative plan will be a combination of website streaming, an online interactive environment, and live teleconference via Zoom. As you recall our study circles, we’ve already done much of this and have the equipment and university resources in place to do so. We feel very confident in our ability to hold the Summit online if necessary.
