The 2020 Final Report & OTOK Toolkit is devoted to informational materials, instructional videos, and other supporting literature that provide tools for community engagement.
The entire Our Town Our Kids project was guided by our mission to empower local communities to develop healthy youth initiatives which will, in turn, reduce the number of youths at risk for involvement in the juvenile justice system. The OTOK Toolkit represents a comprehensive collection of tools that local communities across Kansas and beyond may use -- at no cost -- to tailor local approaches related to justice-involved kids and their families.
To get started, click on the 2020 Final Report & Toolkit in the left-hand green navigation menu. There you will find more detailed instructions and a video tutorial, walking you through various options for accessing the OTOK Toolkit.
Throughout the report, you will note images of shoes, directions, and steps -- all of which symbolize the premier role of process in developing community initiatives and system improvement for our kids. While we emphasize that home is where our stories begin, it is also true that many external factors, situations, and events may lead an individual kid in a number of directions. It is critical that communities engage in how these pathways develop.
As Project Director, I want to welcome you to the OTOK family of participants, users, and others interested in improving outcomes for all our kids.
